News and Review: Mac and Cheese is Back on the Menu at Magic Kingdom’s Friar’s Nook!

We’ll be the first to admit we love the new tater tot based menu at Friar’s Nook in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, but as much as we enjoy the tots, we were missing this location’s Mac and Cheese — and many of you told us you missed it too!

We have good — no, make that GREAT — news for you! Mac and Cheese dishes are back at Friar’s Nook — and with a tater tot twist.

We couldn’t stop ourselves, before we knew it we had these new Mac and Cheese items in our hands!

Your Mac and Cheese options are: Creamy Bacon Mac and Cheese Tots, Creamy Bacon Mac and Cheese, Creamy Bacon Tots, Fiesta Mac and Cheese, or Loaded Fiesta Tots.

First up was the Creamy Bacon Mac and Cheese Tots. Carb delicious-ness here we come!

You’ve got a bowl of creamy, cheesy mac and cheese, a ring of tater tots, a pile of bacon, and dollop of sour cream garnished with green onions.

Just look at this golden, cheesy, carby delight!

Of course, we enjoyed every bite of this gooey, cheesy dish!

As if the Creamy Bacon Mac and Cheese Tots weren’t enough, we then tried the Fiesta Mac and Cheese.

What a colorful dish! Green jalapenos, red tomatoes, green peppers, chili meat, and that creamy mac. A fiesta in a bowl!

We appreciated the generous amount of toppings on both the versions of the Mac and Cheese dishes we tried. This gives you a good idea of the gooey-ness of that mac and cheese.

Don’t fear if you’re worried about heat or spice. You get some from the jalapenos (which we’re sure you can ask to be skipped), but we didn’t find too much heat in the chili or tomato and green peppers.

To sum this up: YUM and thank you Friar’s Nook for bringing back our old friend. We didn’t think they could make it better, but they really did with these two versions.
