Disney4me
Plaza Inn on Disneyland’s Main Street U.S.A. has joined in on the Holiday fun and just added a three new Christmas-themed treats to their menu. Read on to find out if they’re worth the stop! Plaza Inn, Main St. USA Plaza Inn is known for its great location, charming atmosphere, and most of all the best fried chicken I’ve ever tasted (no exaggeration there, seriously!). We set out to find out if their new holiday dessert menu treats were a must-try and here’s what we found. Disneyland Plaza Inn’s Holiday Dessert Menu First up: this cute little Holiday Bundt Cake. Plaza Inn Holiday Bundt Cake While we loved the presentation–especially the cute little Minnie chocolate detail on top–we were a little disappointed with the first bite. Like we’ve seen happening over at Jolly Holiday Bakery, their classic buttercream has been replaced in several desserts with white chocolate mousse. It’s sweet, but pretty generic. I really miss the buttercream! Lots of frosting, but no buttercream Next, the Christmas Mint Yule Log. Plaza Inn Christmas Mint Yule Log This holiday dessert also gets some extra points for presentation with that perfect chocolate cake swirl and those cute shiny chocolate pearls on top. And while the buttercream hasn’t disappeared from this one, I didn’t get a lot of flavor from this. Moving on to the Coconut Cream Pie: Plaza Inn Christmas-themed Coconut Cream Pie This dessert is pretty basic in terms of presentation and again, didn’t really wow us with the flavor. You do get coconut vibes from this with the coconut-flavored pastry cream, coconut flavored whipped cream, and coconut shavings on tops, but that’s about it. A sweet coconutty dessert but not a lot of flavor depth. Christmas Coconut Cream Pie at the Plaza Inn All three of these desserts were fine, but they all left us with that “meh” feeling. Is it worth stopping at the Plaza Inn JUST for the Holiday desserts? Probably not. With all of the other drool-worthy Holiday sweets at Disneyland, we think your tastebuds (and dollars!) would be happier with something else. And good news! We already have a list of the best for you! Check them out here!
