What’s Up with Noodle-pocalypse? Possible Menu Change From Noodles to Fried Rice at Disney World’s ‘Ohana

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is home to ‘Ohana, a spot is known for its character breakfast in the mornings and its all-you-care-to-enjoy feast in the evenings featuring grilled meats accompanied by pork dumplings and chicken wings, all followed up with ‘Ohana Bread Pudding.

One of the traditional accompaniments to the meal has also been lo mein noodles tossed in a teriyaki sauce – which may have its days on the menu numbered.

As is always the case when a potential ‘Ohana menu change is on the horizon (see previous menu updates here, here, and here), folks are upset and nervous. This time around, it’s those noodles that are potentially on the chopping block. Some guests, rather than receiving the noodles, have received a side of curry fried rice instead, as evidenced by this picture shared with us here at DFB from @dislovefromMN on Twitter.

We’ve heard different information from different guests: some have been told that this is simply a test dish (and we’ve even heard reports that the noodles may have already come back after what must have been a very brief trial run for the rice).

However, we’ve also spoken with Cast Members at the Polynesian who have reported BOTH that the menu change from noodles to curry rice has not yet been reflected on the Disney World website menu which, at this time, still lists the teriyaki noodles as an accompaniment, AND that the noodles will indeed be replaced by the curry rice.

So, basically, nothing is official except that ‘Ohana is indeed testing a new menu item — curry fried rice — that may in time replace the teriyaki noodles.

The coming days will hopefully reveal more information, and we’ll keep you posted on the status once we hear more!
