You’ll find a wide variety of eats at each moderate resort from grab and go and pool bars to quick service and table service restaurants. We wanted to bring you up to date on what’s going on menu-wise — and what a few of our favorites are! — at Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside in case you’re traveling there soon! Water Wheel Runs the Mill What’s Happening at Port Orleans French Quarter The resort pays homage to all things New Orleans and Mardi Gras — which means beignets are plentiful here! Port Orleans French Quarter At the bakery or beignet station in Sassagoula Floatworks, which serves as this resorts quick service location, you can of course order beignets. One major difference between these beignets and the genuine thing from New Orleans…these beignets are Mickey-shaped! Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory Port Orleans French Quarter Sassagoula Floatworks Beignet/Bakery Menu You can get three or six beignets with or without your choice of dipping sauce, or splurge with a beignet sundae! Mickey-Shaped Beignet at Port Orleans French Quarter Mickey-Beignet Sundae In the fall you just might find pumpkin spice beignets here! If you’re not in the mood for beignets, one of my favorite, under-the-radar treats in Disney World is the amazing Mickey-shaped Pecan Praline here! House-made Pecan Praline The bakery window is also home to the traditional Mardi Gras specialty, the King Cake, year-round! Port Orleans French Quarter Sassagoula Floatworks Beignet/Bakery Menu The beignets don’t stop at the bakery window. You can also find a Beignet Cheeseburger at the Sandwich Window in Sassagoula Floatworks. Last summer they introduced Baton Rouge Beignets, but at DFB we affectionately refer to them as “Boozy Beignets”. Back in Sassagoula Floatworks, you can create-your-own pasta dish, dine on shrimp and grits, or dive into some comfort food and enjoy a fresh-baked pizza. Port Orleans French Quarter Sassagoula Floatworks Pasta and Pizza Menu No visit to New Orleans, or this resort, is complete without a Po’ Boy or Muffuletta. You’ll find both of these along with Jambalaya and Gumbo at the Po’ Boy Shop. This window also serves up the Sassagoula Power Salad and French Quarter House Salad. The Jambalaya is always my must-eat! These two resorts are connected to each other with a walking path, so you can eat at either resort’s locations and get your fill of southern and New Orleans inspired meals. Riverside Mill Port Orleans Riverside is home to a table service location as well as quick service location. The table service location, Boatwrights, recently updated their menu to include an all-you-care-to enjoy chef’s platter, much like the Wilderness Lodge’s Whispering Canyon platter. All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Chef’s Platter In Riverside Mill, the resort’s quick service location, you’ll find several windows or stations offering a wide variety of options for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. We’ll start where we love to start every meal — at the dessert window! Port Orleans Riverside Mill Bakery Window The magic cookie bar can only be found a few places in Disney World, and this is one of them! Port Orleans Riverside Mill Bakery Window You can satisfy your coffee cravings at the dessert/bakery window as well as your sweet tooth. Port Orleans Riverside Mill Bakery Window Riverside Mill is home to two sandwich windows, one predominately warm sandwiches, while the other is predominately cold sandwiches. Note the exclusive Bayou Burger here, which is served with Abita Beer Fondue! So good!
