Sprinkles Cupcakes has made a name for itself by serving up delicious cupcakes, but this spot — located in both Disneyland’s Downtown Disney and Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs — also has a lot of fun with seasonal cupcakes. This time of year, it’s all about Easter!

The “Easter Candy Series” features limited release cupcakes with a new offering each week. The first is the Robin Eggs Cupcake from April 1-7. Next will be a Jelly Bean Cupcake from April 8-14, followed by the final offering: a Peeps Cupcake from April 15-21!

The Robin Eggs Cupcake consists of moist chocolate cake with sweet vanilla buttercream frosting.

Of course, there’s no way the specialty cupcake stops there! This one is decorated to resemble a bird’s nest! Toasted coconut is pressed into the edges of the buttercream. It’s not crisp or crunchy, which would have been a nice contrast in texture, but it added a little variation in flavor that was welcome.

The addition of three matte candy ‘eggs’ completes the bird’s nest design, making this perfect for the spring and the Easter holiday.

The eggs are a lovely contrast to the simple vanilla buttercream, but they’re pretty big so we preferred eating them separately rather than together with the cupcake. 😉

The eggs are solid chocolate with a sugary coating — nothing special but if this is a favorite Easter candy for you, they’re kind of a bonus atop the delicious cupcake!

We LOVE seasonal eats, and a seasonal cupcake is a sweet way to celebrate any occasion. We’ll be bringing you the next Easter Candy Series cupcakes, too, so stay tuned!
