Star Wars Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker poster Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will hit theaters on December 20, 2019. The trailer — narrated by Luke Skywalker himself — promises to illustrate how “The saga comes to an end”. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Screenshots of the trailer show many familiar faces are returning, including Rey, Princess Leia (played by the late Carrie Fisher), BB-8, Chewie, and C3-PO.
