Disney4me
This month, be sure to stop by the WonderGround Gallery where you can meet two talented artists demonstrating, signing and showcasing their works in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort! Featured Artisan of the Month: Kristin Tercek Kristin Tercek, a native of New Jersey and graduate of NYU Film School, is a person of many talents! She is a self-taught artist from the age of 11 who now paints full time, and has enjoyed success at hand-sewing plush characters of her own design. Her characters have come to life in the form of cute foods, charming botanicals, and both real and imagined animals. Her love of Disney has been constant and unwavering – the high point was being married at the Walt Disney World Resort. She loves painting Disney characters for others to enjoy! Appearance Dates: May 4from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and May 5 from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Artist in Residence: Steph Laberis Steph is a freelance illustrator and character designer for animation. She was born just north of Boston, and was raised on a healthy diet of cartoons, video games and many happy days spent playing in the woods around her home. After seeing The Lion King in theaters, she vowed to pursue a career in animation. She graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in illustration, and has worked in several fields such as toy design, character design, children’s book illustration and game development. She now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her long-time partner Rez, a cat and a rodent or two. Her love for art is rivaled only by her love for animals, as she spends time every week volunteering at her local wildlife hospital. Appearance Dates: May 4-5, 11-12, 18-19, 25-26 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. At WonderGround Gallery, enter a world of imagination inspired by your favorite Disney films and characters and see interpretive works in a range of mediums by dozens of artists.
