I don’t think I can mask my excitement because Soarin’ Over California is BACK! In case you missed it, the original attraction is back for the month of June only… but hey, I’ll take what I can get!

Through June 30th, Soarin’ Over California has temporarily replaced Soarin’ Around the World in the Grizzly Peak area of Disney’s California Adventure.

If you’re anything like me, you want to head straight to the attraction to get your fill of the classic imagery of the Golden Gate Bridge, Yosemite National Park, and Napa Valley. I only have to think about this attraction to experience warm waves of nostalgia.

Soarin’ Over California opened with DCA on February 8, 2001, and represented a new breed of Disney ride technology. Some may say this flight-simulator attraction forged the way for newer cutting-edge rides like Flight of Passage in Disney World’s Animal Kingdom.

Due to its immense popularity, Soarin’ Over California was duplicated at Disney World’s Epcot (as simply, Soarin’) in 2005.

In 2016, both attractions were converted into Soarin’ Around the World, with the new ride film focusing on international landscapes instead of locations in California depicted in the original film. Many fans have loved the intriguing changes to the attraction, but some do miss the OG – Soarin’ Over California.

Whether you prefer to soar around the world or over California, it’s always a treat to board a flight on a classic Disney attraction like this.
