Boozy popsicles seem to be a new Disney World trend, with refreshment Cocktail Pops in Italy in Epcot’s World Showcase and Buzz Pops at Paddlefish in Disney Springs. And now these grown-up popsicles have made their way to Pizza Ponte in Disney Springs as well!

The good news here is that the new Pizza Ponte popsicles we’re checking out today are made by the same brand (Pop Fusions) as the popsicles being served in the Italy pavilion at Epcot. You can see why that’s a VERY good thing by reading about the Italy Cocktail Popsicles out here.  There are a couple of MAJOR differences though, the biggest of them being the price.

Pop Fusions Wine Pops are $12-$13 in Italy, but they’re only $5-$9 at Pizza Ponte! Hello, saving money on our frozen alcohol!

The other difference between the Pizza Ponte and Epcot options is the flavors. In Italy we found Limoncello (a Via Napoli exclusive), Sparkling Strawberry, and Berry Sangria. Pizza Ponte also serves the Sparkling Strawberry and Berry Sangria (at the lower price), and they also sell White Sangria, Mango Mimosa, and Back Porch Peach. Bonus: Pizza Ponte also has a lot more non-alcoholic fruit pop options to choose from as well.

We tried the White Sangria and Back Porch Peach alcoholic options as well as the Chocolate Covered Strawberry non-alcoholic option. First of all, how enticing are they in these bright colors?

The Back Porch Peach pop is $9, and we could really taste the peach flavor. The texture screamed FRESH fruit pop. Though we couldn’t taste much of an alcohol flavor — they’re less than 5% alcohol — the popsicle was very refreshing.

When it came to the White Sangria Popsicle ($9) we were a bit confused because we thought we were eating the peach popsicle again! Still tasty, of course, but the flavor was very similar.

The Chocolate Covered Strawberry Popsicle ($5) is a standard fresh fruit pop. It was super yummy, though it was a little difficult to eat since the chocolate portion broke off more and more with each bite so that we ended up with big chunks of chocolate separate from the strawberry pop. (We admit: not a bad problem to have, really.) But the flavor was delicious, and it was yet another refreshing option.

These pops — wine or otherwise — have been delicious pretty much across the board. And with summer temperatures creeping higher and higher, ’tis the season for some ice pops!
