Disney4me
In my role with Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment, I have the privilege of working with some of the leading animal care experts who are responsible for the care of thousands of animals, including lions. It’s one of the many reasons I love this job. It’s been especially exciting over these past few days to see our Guests engaging in special opportunities to learn more about lions as part of The Lion King “Protect the Pride” campaign. Last week, we introduced you to our pride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in the Caring for Disney Animals video series. Today, we’re going to round out this series about lions by having one of our animal keepers, Lori, tell you more about what we feed the lions here, and what some of Dakari, Kamari and Kinsey’s favorite enrichment activities are. Of course, you can always visit the lions at Disney’s Animal Kingdom with your friends and family to learn more about this incredible species. And it’s not too late to make this ride an even more memorable experience with your friends and family. For every guest who rides the Kilimanjaro Safaris Expedition at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park in Florida during opening week of The Lion King film (July 19 – 25, 2019), the Disney Conservation Fund will donate $2 (up to $350,000) to the Wildlife Conservation Network’s Lion Recovery Fund to help double the number of lions across Africa by 2050. Theme park admission is required. Although the special donation period for Kilimanjaro Safaris Expedition is ending this week, there are even more ways to help Protect the Pride! You can also learn more about the work Disney is doing to promote conservation of wildlife throughout the world. Let’s work together to keep the conservation conversation going!
