Disney4me
The day we’ve been waiting for is finally here! Disney’s Riviera Resort is officially OPEN! Bar Riva We’ve been eating up every detail coming out of the resort ahead of its opening — from a first look at the Riviera merchandise, to its super-luxe lobby and boutique! And while our excitement levels have been going OFF THE CHARTS as we’ve been counting down the days for the hotel to make its official debut, it’s FINALLY time to check out Disney’s Riviera Resort! Join us over at Bar Riva now while we scope out the drinks, eats, and atmosphere of Riviera’s pool bar! Click Here to See ALL Our Riviera Resort Coverage Today! Let’s dig into an EXCLUSIVE Bar Riva menu! Atmosphere While Bar Riva might be technically classified as a pool bar — this is no ordinary pool bar! Let me repeat: NO. ORDINARY. POOL. BAR. You’ll see why in just a second. Drawing its inspiration from the Mediterranean, this poolside location is serving up European and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine along with a BEVY of delicious cocktails! You’ll find Bar Riva’s entrance situated right by another of the resort’s food stops, Primo Piatto. Bar Riva The quick-service Bar Riva is visually lovely. The room is filled with vibrant blues and stark whites for contrast. We can see ourselves really wanting to spend A LOT of time here! Bar Riva The design of the bar is super-sleek and modern without feeling too stuffy. The more casual-looking bar seating and contemporary light fixtures help set the laid-back kind of mood. Bar Riva Truly growing more obsessed by the second with these funky Mid Century Modern-style chandeliers with nice accents of gold! Bar Riva The ceilings are clad in wood with a lightly-stained finish giving additional warmth and coziness to the space. There’s also plenty of ceiling fans to keep that cool air circulating (even we forgot we were OUTSIDE for a second with how lovely and comfortable this room is!). Buuut, it’s also December, so we’ll see what happens in the height of summer. Bar Riva The furniture mimics the cool retro-chic vibes of the lighting with teak chairs and round tables floating throughout the space. Bar Riva And can we just pause for a moment to enjoy this incredible tilework? STUN-NING! Bar Riva A long banquet runs along the entire length of the bar. It’s upholstered with a bold pattern that creates an interesting juxtaposition with the flooring. And how ’bout those murals?! We feel like we’re in the Mediterranean, for reals! Bar Riva This place is truly a feast for the eyes! But we came here to get our EAT ON, so now it’s time to take a look at what’s for lunch! Eats The lounge shares many of the same menu options as Primo Piatto (which makes sense since it’s right next door!). So we’re trying Bar Riva’s exclusive eats, many of which you can sit down to enjoy, or even take on-the-go with you! And while you already know Primo Piatto’s servin’ up a mean Croque Monsieur, Bar Riva’s all about that Monte Cristo-lifestyle, baby! Bar Riva’s Monte Cristo That’s right! Disney World has it’s very own Monte Cristo Sandwich!!! Now you no longer have to travel to Disneyland’s Blue Bayou to get your ham, turkey, gruyere, and brioche all rolled up into one and delicious, deep-fried achievement! Or…maybe you do. Check out our full comparison HERE! Bar Riva’s Monte Cristo The sandwich is even sprinkled with a fine coating of powdered sugar and served with strawberry preserves taking the Monte Cristo all the way up to onze (that’s ELEVEN in French!). Next up, we got into the Grilled Chicken Wings — another Bar Riva exclusive item! Bar Riva Chicken Wings The wings had a great sear to them and we were licking our fingers thanks to all the lemon-herb butter sauce and roasted garlic they were tossed in! Buuut that portion is a little…little. If you know what I mean. Bar Riva Chicken Wings Last, we just had to go for the Baked Brie in Puff Pastry because there’s nothing not to like about warm, gooey cheese wrapped in filo dough. The brie was so nice and BIG! Baked Brie in Puff Pastry And when we sliced into it, the cheese was SOOOO melty! Baked Brie in Puff Pastry With the flaky pastry crust, we could’ve devoured the entire Baked Brie just by itself, but it’s served with pieces of grilled sourdough perfect for scooping up the amazing cheesiness! Grilled Sourdough Served with the Baked Brie in Puff Pastry Check out the rest of Bar Riva’s food menu here! Drinks After getting a preview of the drink menu, we were really excited to try out some of the European-inspired cocktails at the Bar Riva when Disney’s Riveria Resort opened today! Signature cocktails include your choice of various sangrias and frozen cocktails. Bar Riva Bar Menu There are also plenty of specialty mixed drinks to choose from… Bar Riva Bar Menu …along with a vast section of wines, beers, and hard cider. Bar Riva Bar Menu There are also non-alcoholic drinks if you prefer mocktails over cocktails! Bar Riva Bar Menu Here’s the selection of drinks we ended up with, based on the bartender’s recommendation! We’ll take you through each of ’em! Bar Riva Cocktails It was a perfect day to down a delcicious Provence Frosé for $16 featuring Provence Rosé Wine and Cîroc Vodka! It’s delicious and so pretty — made with imported wine, Ooh la la! Provence Frosé And we were happy to wet our whistle with the Il Tramonto for $13. This one’s made with Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Aperol, St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur, Lemonade, Turmeric, Pomegranate, and Orange! It’s so spicy, citrusy, and sweet! And tumeric is totally good for you, right? Il Tramonto For a refreshing, poolside sipper, we’d recommend the Almande Grog for $14. Courvoisier VS Cognac, Appleton Estate Reserve Blend Rum, Disaronno Originale, Apricot, Honey, Lemon, and Soda Water make this one a fav in our group — plus the bartender told us the apricot sauce it uses is made-in-house! Almande Grog And for our last selection, we went with Le Petit Fleur featuring Cîroc Vodka, Lillet Blanc, Camomile Tea, Lemon, and Soda Water. The $14 drink was subtly potent, with just mild earthy tones from the tea! Le Petit Fleur There are so many other drinks to choose from including the Mediterranean Wave, which is made with Ciroc Vodka, Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto, Liqueur, Pineapple, Agave, and Bois Blue Curaçao. There’s also the frozen Strawberry Margarita, made Harradura Reposado Tequlia. We’ll definitely be back to try a few more of ’em! Overall Bar Riva is a fantastic addition to the Riviera Resort, and will definitely be a great option for you if you dig its indoor/ outdoor atmosphere. It really has great food, excellent drinks and a gorgeous room to enjoy them in — or take ’em outside and enjoy the pool view! We think along with Primo Piatto, Bar Riva goes above and beyond what you’d expect from a typical fast-casual restaurant, making it a fun part of your stop by Disney World’s newest deluxe resort!
