With Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary fast approaching, there are a lot of touch-ups and changes happening around the resort!

We’ve seen Cinderella Castle get a makeover, new rides under construction, and new dining options coming soon! The latest addition to the list of construction projects is an update to the Walt Disney World entrance signs, and today we’ve got pictures on the progress!

For reference, here’s a picture of one of the signs before the painting started. It’s a very classic Disney look, but the colors had begun to fade a tad.

And here’s the concept art for what the signs should look like after repainting! It’s a sleeker and more modern look, and they’ve changed the text from “Where Dreams Come True” to “The Most Magical Place on Earth.”

As we pulled up to one of the signs today, we noticed that only the right half had been completed so far. The columns are now a gray color, and Mickey’s background is now a solid blue.

It’s very clear to see where the changes occur when you look at Mickey’s side next to Minnie’s. This is definitely a full-scale makeover!

At the top of the sign, you can see the posts where the new flag pennants are to be attached. Underneath “Walt Disney World,” we noticed that the old “Where Dreams Come True” signage had been removed.

Here’s a look at the sign from the back. Not as much going on from this side, but you can clearly see how far they’ve made it with the painting.

This update complements lots of the changes happening around the parks! The color scheme that they’ve chosen will match well with the new Cinderella Castle paint job.
