There are quite a few construction projects going on all over Disney World including TONS of work happening as part of the EPCOT Transformation, new stores and restaurants being built in Disney Springs, and los of construction going on near the TRON coaster.

It looks like Disney has been doing some work at the Main Street, U.S.A. train station in Magic Kingdom as well based on the big scrims we’ve seen there recently. But, as we walked into Magic Kingdom today, the train station was looking a bit different!

The Walt Disney World railroad has been “temporarily unavailable” for quite some time now because of the construction going on for the new TRON coaster coming to Tomorrowland. We saw some BIG scrims up at the Main Street, U.S.A. station recently. For reference, this is what they looked like just a few days ago.

But, today, the scrims were looking a bit different! The regular, plain scrims reach further up the station, closer to the clock, and a new scrim has been now added to the bottom with an image/design meant to mimic the actual train station.

We’ve seen these “designed” scrims used a lot in the past in Disney. They can help guests still get good photos with a background that looks somewhat like the attraction or area from afar, rather than just looking purely like a construction barrier.

They can also just make the whole area look a bit more pleasant when you’re walking through.

The other side of the train station (the one facing the Castle) also appears to have gotten a bit more scrims added to it. Here’s a peek at what it looked like previously…

We look forward to seeing the train station all finished up once the scrims are removed. We’ll keep an eye out for more changes around Disney World and let you know what we find, so stay tuned for the latest updates!
