Some Disney World attractions are getting a little TLC this upcoming week!

We’ve been keeping up with all the closures and scheduled refurbishments in the theme parks. Some attractions are down for routine maintenance while others are closed for larger projects. Let’s take a look at every attraction that will be closed between February 8th through February 14th, 2021!

Magic Kingdom Refurbishments

The Hall of Presidents

This attraction features every president in the United States in the form of an animatronic. After a new president is elected, Disney will close the show and create a new animatronic to be added to the final scene. The Hall of Presidents is currently closed so Imagineers can create and install the new animatronic for President Joe Biden.

No official opening date has been announced for the attraction yet. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more!

Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover

The PeopleMover has been through a lot in the last few months! We’ve seen the reopening date be delayed about four times now. It’s unclear what Disney is fixing or refurbishing but we have seen it being tested recently.

The reopening date has been pushed back once again and is currently scheduled to resume operations on March 1st, 2021.

Walt Disney World Railroad

The construction for TRON Lightcycle Run has forced the Magic Kingdom train to temporarily suspend operations. The construction site for the new roller coaster is huge and interrupting the train’s pathway through Tomorrowland!

The reopening date has not been confirmed as of yet. We’ll have to wait and see if the train will start running once TRON gets closer to finishing. As of now, the coaster most likely won’t open until 2022. We’ll be sure to update you once we learn more.

Animal Kingdom Refurbishments

Kali River Rapids

Disney closed the raft ride in Animal Kingdom a couple of months ago. Guest attendance for water rides can be very low in the wintertime so it’s an opportune time for maintenance.

Kali River Rapids is scheduled to open on April 1st, 2021.

Disney World Resort Refurbishments

The entryway, lobby, and monorail station at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort are undergoing big changes. The guest rooms will also receive a  Moana-inspired makeover! The construction for the major transformation is expected to finish sometime this summer. Plus, Kiki Tikis Splash Play Area is closed while it undergoes refurbishment from February through March 2021.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort will receive refurbished guest rooms too. A Cast Member told us the refurb will take place in the Main Tower and last between April through 2021.
