Disney4me
Avengers Campus officially opens on June 4th at Disney California Adventure Park! Pym Test Kitchen We were lucky enough to get a sneak peek at this new land recently and now we’re sharing a look at all it has to offer with you!! While there is a new attraction to talk about, as well as merchandise, and more, we’re focusing this post on one of the most important aspects of any Disney World theme park land…the FOOD! Specifically, we’re sharing a first look at one of the new restaurants in Avengers Campus, Pym Test Kitchen. You know, the one with the $100 sandwich?! Entrance Area and Atmosphere We start our mini tour of Pym Test Kitchen from the outside. Here’s a look at the Pym Test Kitchen and the area surrounding it. Pym Test Kitchen If you’re wondering where this is in the land overall, you’ll find it on the part of the land that is closer to Guardians of the Galaxy MISSION: BREAKOUT! ©Disney Inside the restaurant, you’ll find a number of screens displaying the food items available. There are specific numbers on the floor and up above to indicate where guests should go to pick up their food. Pym Test Kitchen You’ll also find a variety of pretzels floating around, some of which are VERY small (peep the one to the right in the photo above) and others which are quite large! Looks like they’ve really been doing a lot of experimenting here! Pretzels! There are stations where guests will place their order with a Cast Member. Note the plexiglass surrounding the ordering station. Pym Test Kitchen Marvel fans will be thrilled to find easter eggs and more details throughout this entire space. All Kinds of Details! There are all kinds of images and displays on the walls discussing Pym particles and more! So Much to Look At! You’ll want to stop and take a look at these during your visit! Drink Stations and More Need to grab a drink? Find your way over to the GIANT soda cans in the ceiling… Wow! …which appear to be “hooked up” to the actual soda dispensers. Notice that little bread tag with a date on it by the sodas? It’s got 03 Aug on it, which actually represents the birthday of Evangeline Lilly, the actress that plays Hope van Dyne in Ant Man. Soda Set-Up With More Details Everywhere Elsewhere, you’ll find another bread tag with the date 06 Apr, which represents the birthday of Paul Rudd, the actor who plays Ant Man! See That Date? The soda machines available are actually Coca-Cola Freestyle machines, which had a very special offering…do you spot it? What Would You Like? It’s Pingo Doce!! Marvel fans will recognize this drink’s special connection with Bruce Banner, who worked on a Pino Doce Bottling Plant during The Incredible Hulk. Will this drink have some of the Hulk’s gamma-infused blood? Seems unlikely, but you can try it for yourself when you visit Avengers Campus! Pick Your Drink! Need some coffee or hot chocolate to fuel your day? That’s available here too! Coffee and More How about some ketchup or mustard? Looks like you’ll have some GIANT options available for that too! That’s a Lot of Ketchup! Seems there is quite a lot of experimentation going on here with those Pym particles! These are a nod to DCA’s old Bountiful Valley Farm area. And spot the 2001 date on the bottles? That’s the year that Disney California Adventure opened. Food But enough already about the atmosphere, let’s get into the food!! During our trip, we got quite a few items. We’ll be sharing more details about the food later, but here’s a sneak peek!! First up, here’s the Not so Little Chicken Sandwich! This sandwich is made with a fried chicken breast, teriyaki and red chili sauces, and pickled cabbage slaw, which is all then served on brioche. It also comes with a site of crispy potato bits. Not so Little Chicken Sandwich That’s one big piece of chicken compared to the bun!! You can grab this sandwich for $15.49. Let’s Dig In!!! Next up, there’s the Atomic Fusion Pretzel which definitely has some bright colors going on! The pretzel is made buffalo-style, loaded with chicken, hot sauce, ranch dressing, blue cheese crumbles, celery and dill-pickled carrots! You can grab this for $10.49. Atomic Fusion Pretzel Looking for something plant-based? Pym Test Kitchen has you covered with the Impossible Spoonful. This dish is made with rigatoni and ditalini pastas, plant-based meat-balls, tomato sauce, dairy-free parmesan and micro basil. Looks like some of those meatballs were hit with the particles that make them grow very large while others have been shrunken down a bit! You can get this dish for $13.99. Time to Eat!! And that’s a first look at Pym Test Kitchen! We’ll be sharing a FULL look at the food, and later a full review as well, so be sure to look out for that!
