With several resorts getting refurbishments or overhauls and a ton of new rides like the Tron coaster coming soon, there’s plenty of construction going on at the parks and resorts! The Lobby of Disney’s Polynesian Resort Today, we’re checking out the construction progress at the monorail resorts: Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort! Disney’s Polynesian Resort Construction continues on Disney’s Polynesian Resort! With a major overhaul including a new entrance, Moana-themed rooms, and a complete reconstruction of the resort’s Monorail station, there’s a lot going on. So far, construction on the main entrance has made great progress! Previously, we reported that the entrance roof had been raised and placed on the building, now the roof looks finished! This is a big milestone for the construction of the resort’s new entrance. Construction on the Polynesian’s entrance When the entrance is finished later this summer, it will look like this! Construction continues on the station with the roofing complete and the structure really taking shape. The Monorail will not be open when the Polynesian first opens, and Disney has not announced when this project is supposed to be finished up. Construction continues on the Polynesian’s new monorail station! Inside the resort’s lobby, you’ll see that the main entrance is blocked off due to construction with signs redirecting you to a different exit. The entrance has been blocked off for safety! Similarly, the Monorail station at the Polynesian is blocked off for the time being. Same with the monorail enrance! There’s a ton of construction going on at the Polynesian, like this construction near the resort’s pool. With a total re-theming and redesign going on, there’s work being done everywhere! Construction galore! A couple of the walkways to resort rooms have been blocked because the entrances are being redesigned. Don’t worry, you can still get to your room! Disney’s Contemporary Resort There’s not much to report from inside Disney’s Contemporary Resort! Except, ya know, the big ugly scrim lining each level of the resort. We’re not going to lie, the Contemporary is not pretty right now, and the refurb is set to last through September of this year. This is has been here a while now, however… Scrim everywhere! …we did spot some more construction work being done on one of the top floors of the resort! Looks like the Incredibles re-theming for Contemporary’s rooms is moving along! Lots of progress! We also spotted some construction going on at the Contemporary’s main entrance — mostly lighting tweaks and repainting! Just some little tweaks! Since the refurb is set to end in September, hopefully we’ll see some more progress in the coming months! Get a First Look at the Incredibles-themed Rooms at the Contemporary! Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is set to receive room refurbishments in spring of 2022, so we haven’t seen any construction action here yet.
