Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is home to so many great food stops.

Entrance of the Polynesian!

From ‘Ohana, to Dole Whip at Pineapple Lanai, there’s a food option for everyone. Capt. Cook’s is another great stop for counter service, and today we made our way there to try a new Halloween treat in the form of a push pop!

Capt. Cook’s in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is a quick service spot with an island feel where you can grab breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We *popped* in to grab this spooky new sweet treat, which just so happens to be a Disney food trend we’ve seen MANY times before.

Capt. Cook’s

Sandwiched between the Scrump dome cake and the Moana cupcake was a brand new Halloween treat — the Mickey BOO Bash Push Pop for $5.99! Let’s get a closer look.

Push Pops?!

Yes, this push pop has eyes! It comes with a lid so you can snack on the go, and it’s made of vanilla cake, vanilla buttercream, sprinkles, and crispy pearls, all layered together. We’ve seen a Jack Skellington Halloween push pop in the past, but this one is not associated with any Disney characters.

It has eyes!

Check out those colorful layers of orange, purple, and green! And before you ask, yes — that’s a LOT of frosting.

Look at the layers!

The cake and buttercream frosting have a good vanilla flavor and the cake was nice and moist, but the balance between the frosting and the cake layers was a little off because of all the icing. If you’re the kind of person who thinks most cupcakes don’t have enough frosting, this is for you! The sprinkles weren’t our favorite because they were kind of chewy and fondant-ish.

It’s looking at you

Pushing the treat was ridiculously fun, and kids would probably have a blast with it. Overall, this treat is super sweet, but the sugary-ness doesn’t hit as hard until after you eat it. We wish it had just a little more cake to balance out the icing.

It’s time to push the pop

It’s not the most unique-tasting Halloween treat Disney World has to offer, but frosting and sugar fans will have so much fun with its innovative push pop presentation. As a bonus, you can take it with you and eat it on the go!
