Museum, urban park reveal diverse heritage of Ybor City

In Tampa’s Ybor City, people from Cuba, Spain, Sicily and other locations arrived to form what Florida historian Gary Mormino has called “one of the great immigrant communities in America” in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. That story is told at the Ybor City Museum, part of Florida’s state park system — an “urban park” dedicated to preserving Ybor City’s remarkable cultural heritage.
