Disney4me
Space 220 has officially been open for a little while now in EPCOT, but it is still one of the newest restaurants to hit the food scene in Disney World. Space 220 We’ve shared a look inside this space, cool details to spot here, and full reviews of lunch, dinner, and the lounge. We literally ate EVERYTHING on all 3 menus, so yeah, we’ve reallllly explored all that Space 220 has to offer. If you’re planning to take the elevator to space, you might be wondering what items there are the very BEST of the BEST. So, we thought back on all of our previous rankings and brought to mind those tasty flavors to bring you our list of the 3 very BEST things you can get at Space 220! Before we get into our list we do want to mention that Space 220 offers a prix fixe menu of 2 courses at lunch and 3 courses at dinner for adults. The lounge has its own separate menu of unique items that can be purchased individually. Our understanding is that you can also get the Prix Fixe menu at the lounge. Be sure to check with your server to see if this is the case when you visit. At lunch, the prix fixe menu includes your choice of 1 appetizer and 1 entree, while dinner includes 1 appetizer, 1 entree, and 1 dessert. Space 220 Lunch Menu Space 220 also has sides that can be ordered in addition to your meal and “Space Station Specials/Supplementals” that are also an additional cost. Space 220 menu While many of the items are similar across both the lunch and dinner menus, the Space Station Specials differ across the meals, and there are some other items that you’ll only find either at lunch or dinner. Space 220 We’ll identify below whether the items are lunch-exclusive, dinner-exclusive, or available at both. But, the fact that some of these might be exclusive to one time or another is something you’ll want to keep in mind when deciding WHEN to visit Space 220. And with that introduction out of the way, we now present to you the 3 BEST things (in no particular order) you can get at Space 220. 1 –Blue Moon Cauliflower First up, we have one item that was a MASSIVE hit with our DFB reporters — the Blue Moon Cauliflower! This item is made of Tempura Fried Cauliflower, Housemade Hot Sauce, and Blue Cheese Dust. It is available as an appetizer on the lunch and dinner menus, and it is also an item you can get individually at the lounge. Blue Moon Cauliflower Essentially, what you’re getting are delicious little morsels of fried cauliflower, topped with hot sauce and what is essentially freeze-dried blue cheese crumbles! Ummm, YES! A thousand times yes!! Blue Moon Cauliflower This dish was incredibly good. No joke, our reporters who got to try this dish totally devoured it! It had a perfect amount of crunchiness. Mix that with the hot sauce and blue cheese and you’ve got a total win. Blue Moon Cauliflower Now, if you absolutely HATE cauliflower, this might not be an ideal choice for you. But, if you’re a fan of fried foods, hot sauce, and blue cheese (and the taste of cauliflower doesn’t absolutely repulse you), then we seriously think this is one of the BEST things you can get at Space 220. 2 — 8oz Filet Mignon Next up, we’ve got the 8oz Filet Mignon. This item is exclusive to the dinner menu. The dish features an 8oz Filet Mignon, which comes with Cabernet Butter, Potato Leek Croquette, and Haricot Vert. If you want to add on more items to this dish, for an additional $10 you can add Shrimp to this dish, or for an additional $15 you can add a Half Lobster. 8oz Filet Mignon Now, we’ll fully admit that pink stuff plopped on top of the steak sort-of looks like…well, brains. BUT, do not fear! This is most certainly not zombie food because that pinkish stuff is actually the Cabernet Butter! This dish was one that truly made us stop in our tracks. We had to take a moment to collect ourselves after eating it. It was also our favorite entree when it came to dinnertime. The filet mignon itself melted in your mouth and the Cabernet Butter made everything so much tastier. 8oz Filet Mignon from Space 220 We’re not saying that you no longer have to grab a steak at Le Cellier. If you’re looking for steak and steak alone, the Canada Pavilion is still a place to visit. BUT, this 8oz filet mignon, combined with the rest of the prix fixe menu, was a total hit for us! Filet It’s also a pretty good bang for your buck in terms of portion size. The potato croquette it’s served with was also delightful! Overall, this dish is (in our opinion) the best entree you can get at dinner and one of the best things you can get at Space 220 period. 3 — 1.5 lbs Baked Whole Lobster Stuffed with Jumbo Crab Lastly, we have the 1.5 lbs Baked Whole Lobster Stuffed with Jumbo Crab. It is truly just as it sounds — a whole lobster stuffed with jumbo crab. And it is served with Roasted Corn, Broccolini, and Mornay Sauce. This dish is a Space Station Supplemental dish you’ll only find on the dinner menu. It is an additional cost of $20. That means you still have to pay for and order from the traditional prix fixe menu at dinner ($79.00) and then order/pay for this as an addition. Baked Whole Lobster Stuffed with Jumbo Crab from Space 220 If a 1.5 lbs Baked Whole Lobster Stuffed with Jumbo Crab sounds like a lot to you, you’d be right. This dish was HUGE and absolutely delicious! Yes, it is a $20 upcharge, but we felt like that was actually a fairly good value, especially considering the fact that the New England Lobster Roll in the lounge (which is considerably smaller) is priced at $34. Baked Whole Lobster Stuffed with Jumbo Crab The lobster came with a hearty pour of garlic butter that soaked right into the crab and lobster meats — absolutely, 100% yes. So Much Deliciousness We think you might actually be surprised at just how good this item is. Of all of the items that come with an upcharge at dinner, we think this one is worth it the most. And, overall, we think it’s one of the BEST things you can eat at Space 220 (and we’d know — we ate EVERYTHING on the lunch, dinner, and lounge menus).
