Grand Californian Tree It’s officially the holiday season, with the Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure and Merriest Nites at Disneyland well underway and plenty of holiday treats to enjoy! Today, we’re trying a new holiday treat over at one of the Grand Californian Resort’s restaurants — it’s an…interesting one. GCH Craftsman Grill is known for its small menu of quick meals that are creative and tasty! One of its most popular offerings is its Hot Dog of the Month, which can range from sweet to savory! GCH Craftsman Bar seating December’s Hot Dog of the Month is the Tamale Dog, which is a Hot Dog wrapped in Masa and topped with Pico De Gallo, Crema, Queso Fresco, and Cilantro for $12. The major highlights of this dish were the combination of the hot dog, masa, pico de gallo, and queso fresco; all of these components came together to give this dish a flavor profile that was surprisingly similar to an actual tamale! The Tamale Dog! The only thing that wasn’t a winner for us was the crema, the flavor just didn’t mix well with the rest of the dish! Overall, we’d recommend this treat to anyone who’s a fan of Mexican food, tamales, or looking for something new and outside-of-the-box to try! Disney… are you sure about this one? This isn’t the first time GCH Craftsman Grill & Bar has served up something weird for their Hot Dog of the Month: back in October, we ordered the Hot Dog of the Month and ended up with a churro! The “hot dog” is a churro! If you’re looking for the classic Tamale experience, we’d recommend heading to Disney California Adventure’s Festival of Holidays and checking out the cart in the Paradise Gardens section of the festival!
