(Joe Burbank/Orlando Sentinel) Walt Disney World has revealed a few details about the upcoming Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, including that the Garden Rocks concert series will be returning. The performances, held at the theme park’s America Gardens Theatre, were interrupted midstream as a pandemic precaution in 2020 and put on hold in 2021. Disney did not reveal which singers would be participating in 2022 Garden Rocks. Among the acts in the foiled 2020 lineup were Expose, A Flock of Seagulls, Rick Springfield, Casting Crowns, Thelma Houston and Daughtry. Millions of blooms and dozens of gardens and topiaries are featured in the festival that now also showcases food samplings from 20 outdoor kitchens and kiosks. This year’s expanded festival at Epcot is running for more than five months, from March 3 to July 5. It starts about 10 days after the end of the Epcot International Festival of the Arts. In 2021, the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival began on July 15. Other fresh Flower & Garden Festival details shared via the official Disney Parks Blog: · The front-and-center topiary display will feature Goofy and a 50th anniversary “cake.” · Other character topiaries will feature Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Germany pavilion and Lumiere and Cogsworth from “Beauty and the Beast” in France. · There will be 18 outdoor kitchens operating during the festival, although Disney did not identify their themes or menus. · A Health Full Trail on the Imagination walkway will include “tips for staying well,” the blog says.
