We’ve been excitedly waiting for this day, and it’s finally here; the EPCOT Festival of the Arts has started! We’re here in Disney World trying ALL the new snacks and drinks, and admiring some pretty art along the way!

El Artista Hambriento Food Studio

This time, we’re in Mexico visiting El Artista Hambriento (which means “the hungry artist“). We usually have pretty good things to say about this festival food booth, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed that it lives up to its name!

Menu

This year, the menu has two new foods and one returning dessert.

El Artista Hambriento Menu 2022

Last year we ADORED the Taco de Chocolate, so we were happy to see it back on the menu for 2022. But what about those new menu items? Let’s give them a try and find out!

Food

We couldn’t wait to check out this booth and y’all, it didn’t disappoint.

El Artista Hambriento Spread

Just take a look at this beautiful spread!

We started with the Huarache Verde, which is made with Cilantro Huarache with Cochinita Pibil, Fresh Pineapple, and Pickled Onion for $7.50. This dish is *chef’s kiss.* The pork was moist and tasty and we LOVED the picked onion and the burst of sweetness from the pineapple!

We also got the Carne Asada, which comes with Seared Beef Tenderloin, Grilled Queso Fresco, Refried Beans, Scallion, and Ranchera Salsa for $9.50. This was another dish we LOVED. Our only complaint is that we wish there was more fried cheese (we always want more fried cheese though, let’s be honest). There was a little heat in the salsa and the steak and beans were cooked well.

Here’s a look at the returning Taco de Chocolate which is made with a Chocolate Candy Shell filled with Mexican Chocolate Mousse with a touch of Chile and topped with Tropical Fruit. The combination of the sweet chocolate and spice from the chile is what really makes this dessert. Mix that with the fruit and you have a super tasty dessert! It’ll cost you $6.50.

Now let’s check out the drinks!

Drinks

The fun doesn’t stop with the food when there are drinks to try too! We ordered the The Lily, made with Blanco Tequila, Violet Essence Infusion, Rose Petal Liqueur, Cranberry, and Lime Juice for $16. This drink is fabulous! It’s more tart than it is sweet, but we could definitely taste the high quality tequila and the subtle rose hints.

The Lily

Gorgeous gorgeous people love gorgeous gorgeous cocktails.

We also tried the Smoky Rosemary, which is listed incorrectly in the Festival of the Arts Passport as the “Smoky Raspberry.” This cocktail is made with Blanco Tequila, Rosemary-Infused Mezcal, Ginger Cordial, Lime Juice, and Rosemary Aroma for $15. As if this booth wasn’t already incredible, we also loved this cocktail! It was really smoky (which we love) and we didn’t get a ton of ginger or rosemary flavors — we mostly tasted lime and mezcal. SO good.

Last on the menu is the Mexican Craft BeerThis sounds more interesting than it actually is — the flavor is a pretty standard beer flavor. It’s smooth and a good pick if you want to go the safe route as a beer-fan!

Mexican Craft Beer (2021)

It’s $10 for a glass of this drink.

Overall

Overall, we were REALLY impressed with this food booth! The entrees were both incredible, the booth offers a one-of-a-kind dessert, and there are a couple of very yummy cocktails that are unique to this location. Spoiler alert: you may see this booth in our Best of the Fest! 🤫

Be sure to stay tuned as we keep trying more foods and treats around the World Showcase, and stick around for our best of the fest picks, too!
