And while you might know about the big things — holidays, opening dates, etc. — there may be one type of event you’re forgetting about — runDisney races. 2022 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend These race weekends can bring some BIG crowds to the parks. But crowds aren’t the only thing you have to worry about if you’re driving to Disney World during a race. Aside from crowds, you’ll need to be prepared for road closures if you’ll be visiting Disney World during a runDisney race weekend. During the 2023 runDisney races, some Disney World roads will be operating with traffic restrictions or be CLOSED entirely to accommodate runners. Princess Minnie at the Finish Line for Disney Princess 5K Some roads will be closed or have traffic restrictions during the following dates/times: January 6th, 2023, at 10:30PM through January 7th, 2023, at 10AM for the Walt Disney World Half Marathon January 7th, 2023, from 10:30PM through January 8th, 2023, at 12:30PM for the Walt Disney World Marathon. ©runDisney Roads will also be impacted on February 25th, 2023, from 10:30PM through February 26th, 2023, at 10AM for the Disney Princess Half Marathon. ©runDisney Here’s a look at the notice from the Disney World website. ©Disney Be sure to allow plenty of additional travel time to get where you need to go during these dates.
