Disney4me
The Disney100 Celebration is kicking off with…well, a LOT! Pixar Pier In Disneyland on January 27th, there will be a number of new things to celebrate the 100th Anniversary — Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will officially open, Disneyland will get a new nighttime show — Wondrous Journeys, there will be new character costumes, new decorations to enjoy, new food to eat, and SO MUCH MORE. But if you are looking for another way to celebrate, you’ll want to visit Disney California Adventure Park to see their NEW nighttime show — World of Color — ONE! Set to a soundtrack featuring 18 compositions and with references to Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars movies, California Adventure’s new nighttime show has a little bit of everything. Oh, and it uses mist screens, TONS of dancing fountains, laser lights, flame effects, and much more. World of Color — One! We were lucky to get a media preview of the entire experience and now we’re sharing ALL the details with you! The show begins with some words from Walt Disney (a real tug at the heartstrings) and then the narrator talks a bit about how things started with Walt and it really only takes ONE. World of Color — One! According to Disney, the show “celebrates how a single action, like a drop of water, creates a ripple that can grow into a wave of change. You’ll discover how it only takes one action to make an impact on the people in our lives and the world around us, just as one man – Walt Disney – started the wave that has continued to grow and inspire people around the globe for 100 years.” It Only Takes One Throughout the show, we saw projections, light effects, lasers, fountains, and a powerful soundtrack full of fan-favorite Disney songs utilized to bring many films to life including Pocahontas, Encanto, Ratatouille, Soul, Coco, Moana, and MORE. There Is SO Much to See! Not us crying when the emotional music from The Lion King starts playing. The Iconic Lightsaber Battle OH, and the Avengers music made an appearance too, really drawing in the superhero vibes! The show lasts around 24 minutes, so be sure to set aside enough time for it in your schedule. On January 27th, the show will be presented twice — at 9PM and 10:15PM. Those showtimes continue for a few more days. It then appears to be limited just to a 9PM performance on January 30th and 31st. Times vary throughout February, and times are subject to change again, so just be sure to check the schedule ahead of your visit! How Beautiful! While you can catch some of the show from various parts of California Adventure, Disney does note that the “roped-off, reserved viewing areas offer the best vantage point” to fully experience the show. All of the reserved viewing spaces are standing-room only, so keep that in mind. If you want to enter those reserved viewing areas, you’ll need to join the virtual queue. The virtual queue opens at noon in the Disneyland App. Here are some key things to know about the virtual queue: To access the virtual queue, you “must have entered Disney California Adventure Park with a one-park ticket or Park Hopper ticket, or Disneyland Park with a Park Hopper ticket.” If the virtual queue fills up, “visit the Paradise Bay viewing area 30 to 45 minutes before showtime to check in with a Cast Member for walk-up viewing options.” If you get a spot in the virtual queue, you’ll get a “notification through the Disneyland app to enter the viewing area via one of the 2 marked entrance points (Blue or Yellow), approximately 45 minutes before the show begins.” World of Color One Again, while this is for the best viewing spot, remember that the virtual queue is technically not required to view the nighttime show. Additional viewing is available around Paradise Bay on a first-come, first-served basis. Want another way to get a reserved viewing spot for the show? Reserve a World of Color — ONE dining package or participate in the World of Color — ONE Dessert Party. The Dining Package pairs lunch or dinner (depending on the location) at Wine Country Trattoria or Storytellers Cafe with a voucher for the World of Color Preferred Viewing Area. ©Disneyland For the Dessert Party, you’ll pay one price to get desserts and cheeses, 2 alcoholic beverages for adults, reserved seating, and more. Pricing is $89 per guest. ©Disneyland If you want to see this show for yourself, you can do so starting January 27th — either by getting a virtual queue spot, dining package, dessert party, or just walk-up viewing around Paradise Bay. So Beautiful! Between the water effects, fountains, and popular Disney music, we have a feeling this could be a big hit for a number of guests.
