Disney4me
The wait is over! Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana The new Moana-inspired attraction in EPCOT — Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana — is set to open in the fall of 2023. We’ve been not-so-patiently waiting for it to arrive, but today — we were lucky enough to attend a Cast Member preview! We had a ton of fun walking through this exploration trail and playing with the living water — you can read all about our experience here. But, there was one thing that didn’t quite go according to plan. Throughout this walking path, visitors will see signage at the start of each section, with educational information about the water cycle. The sections — Rain, Stream, Wetland, Spring, Land, Lake, River, Ocean, and Sky — each have a component that teaches you something while also allowing you to interact with the water in a unique way. The Water Cycle For example, in Rain, guests can touch “strings” of water that play musical notes as they pass their hands through. The water is inviting you to play! These streams are interactive and play music as you pass your hands through the water! The Spring section of the attraction was temporarily closed, so we didn’t get to see details of how that particular water feature worked. Spring Now, this was a Cast Member preview, so they are working out the kinks. Things should run more smoothly by the time the attraction opens in the Fall. However, it’s a good idea to be prepared for this to happen occasionally. Just like how rides have temporary malfunctions every so often throughout the parks, these water features could see similar closures. Temporarily closed The good news is, even without this one water feature, we were still blown away with everything that we did get to experience. The attraction was beautiful and had a wonderful old-EPCOT, educational feel. Pretty! We’ll be back once this attraction opens so stay tuned to DFB for more!
