Disney4me
A lot of the team members here at DFB have worked at Disney World in the past, and some of us are set on working there again after retirement! Cast Members! After all, working the Most Magical Place on Earth is just that: magical! However, we were wandering through EPCOT during the Festival of the Arts when we stumbled across a job we DON’T want to do. Let’s talk about it! We decided on our little meander throughout the park that we don’t want to be a chalk artist. Not that that job was in the cards for us anyway, but just so we’re clear. We won’t be taking up sidewalk chalk art. Chalk art in 2022 Don’t get us wrong. We LOVE the chalk art. The artists are so kind and talented, too. There’s just one problem. We have attachment issues. And attachment issues are one thing that you can’t really have if you’re gonna be a sidewalk chalk artist at EPCOT. Yeah… we’re talking about the rain. Nate Baranowski is a chalk artist at EPCOT, and he showed the result of what happens when it rains in the middle of working on a piece. ©Nate Baranowski on Instagram Yeah… Bad News Barry. It still looks super cool but we can’t imagine doing all of that hard work just to have it washed away by the rain before it’s even complete. So… what do the artists do to prevent this? Well, if they can catch it in time, they’ll put ponchos or tarps over their work. Chalk art covered! This has been a very rainy and cold January so far, so it seems like the artists might have to do this pretty often… Those poor artists Well, if you’re gonna be a chalk artist at EPCOT, you’ve gotta be tough! We can’t wait to check out even more stunning artwork at this year’s Festival, which runs until February 19th. Make sure to follow along so that you never miss a thing and are always in the loop!
