First, make sure you’ve checked the Disney World calendar because Magic Kingdom is closing early one day this week. You’ll also need to be working on your packing list, but in addition to the usual things we tell you to ALWAYS bring to Disney World, you’ll need to add one thing to that list: allergy medications. Yep, things are VERY sneezy right now in Disney World.

The pollen count in Orlando, Florida is VERY high right now, and it doesn’t look like that’s going to change anytime soon. According to The Weather Channel, the 15-day allergen Forecast is moderate, but the Tree Pollen count is going to be high for the next few days. ACHOO!

Now, that tree pollen is EVERYWHERE right now. Here’s a recent photo taken at Magic Kingdom of the top of one of the trash cans. It has a nice layer of pollen ALL over it. It’s also been getting all over our reporters’ phones and making them sneeze.

SO much pollen

So we’re going to tell you now. Get some allergy medication and make sure to pack it in your bag if you’re visiting Disney World this week (granted, it’s probably always a good idea to keep allergy meds on hand when you visit Florida). If you do happen to forget to pack those pills, though, you should be able to find what you need in shops throughout Disney World. Warning, though: you’ll probably pay a LOT more for those allergy pills at Disney World than you will at your local drug store.

Also, what should you do if you get sick in Disney World? Well, if you’re in the parks, you can always visit a First Aid station — you’ll usually find the First Aid station near the park entrance. If you end up needing prescription medication, Disney has partnered with AdventHealth to offer wellness resources, including non-urgent virtual healthcare visits and prescription delivery to your resort or a pharmacy nearby.

So pack those allergy meds, and know what to do if those allergies get the best of you in Disney World (but we hope they don’t!).
