Disney has just shared some huge news…but one major thing was missing.

During the Q1 earnings call for fiscal year 2024, Disney shared updates about its theme park business, the financial status of its streaming business, and more. But interestingly there was something important they left OUT.

During the earnings call, Disney CEO Bob Iger discussed a variety of hot topics for Disney fans! For those who love the movies, he confirmed a fall release date for the upcoming Moana 2, a 2025 release date for Zootopia 2, and release dates in 2026 and beyond for Frozen 3 and Toy Story 5.

On top of that, we learned about some new content coming to Disney+ soon, like Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour movie and a second season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

We also got some big news about the theme parks! Iger shared that every Disney park location would be getting updates to them. It had been previously announced that there would be a $60 billion investment in Disney Experiences over the next 10 years, but now we know that 70% of the $60 billion will be used for “incremental capacity expanding” in the parks.

But even with high hopes for expansions in the future and already announced plans for changes coming to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, there’s one project Iger didn’t talk about — one that’s coming much sooner than the others. Yep, that’s right, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure!

The new ride is coming to both Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Park, and it’s set to open sometime in 2024. It was originally announced as “late 2024,’ but then the “late” part of that phrase was quietly removed from Disney’s updates. With it already being 2024, we were hoping the earnings call would bring some news about the opening timeline for the ride.

But alas, we still don’t have an opening date, month, or season for this attraction. We’ll be waiting with bated breath for more news, and we’ll make sure to let you know as soon as we get any details.

We do know, however, that the ride will feature new animatronics and a specially-created storyline. You’ll get to travel through the bayou with Tiana, Naveen, Louis, and friends!
