Yet another lawsuit has been filed against Disney, this time for another waterslide injury.

This is the second lawsuit of the sort, as a woman sued Disney for injuries she sustained in 2023 at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. She reportedly went airborne on a waterslide, which caused her to land in the shallow pool of water that gathered at the bottom of the slide. The impact caused “genital lacerations and internal organ damage, requiring two hospital visits for treatment.” Now, a second waterslide-related lawsuit has been filed.

According to Fox35 Orlando, a lawsuit was filed in Orange County, Florida on February 6th by Sarah Carney and attorneys at Morgan & Morgan. On June 17th, 2022, the plaintiff was visiting Animal Kingdom Lodge and went on the waterslide.

At the end of the waterslide, it is reported that Carney hit the bottom of the pool, which caused her to sustain several injuries. Carney said she “suffered bodily injury” that resulted in “pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, permanent and significant scarring, mental anguish, loss of the capacity for the enjoyment of life, expense of hospitalization, medical and nursing care and treatment, loss of earning, loss of the ability to earn money, and aggravation of a previously existing condition.”

Carney and her attorneys are suing Disney for failing to properly maintain the premises/waterslide which resulted in a hazard, failing to inspect the premises/waterslide for said hazard, creating an “unreasonably dangerous” situation for the plaintiff, and failing to correct the hazards that led to the unreasonably dangerous situation.

Carney and her attorneys claimed that there was no reason that Disney shouldn’t have warned her or other riders of the potential risks involved with going on the slide.
