Disney just released ALL the details about a special celebration that’s taking place to say goodbye to Space Mountain as we know it in this park, and we are excited! ©Disney The parks are always in a constant state of change. New rides are built, and older rides are reinvented to create new experiences for guests. Even though it is hard to see certain rides go, we are also thrilled to see what the future holds! Don’t mind us, we are just researching plane tickets to see if we can make it there for this celebration! The previously announced “Celebrating Space Mountain: The Final Ignition!” will take place at Tokyo Disney Resort from April 9th, 2024, through July 31st, 2024. Space Mountain will temporarily close for renovation at the end of the day on July 31st, 2024. The renovated attraction is scheduled to debut in 2027 with new special effects and enhanced performance. While the ride will maintain its original concept, it will bring guests a new experience and new thrills when it reopens. We found out even MORE details on this celebration and we are sharing them ALL with you! “Celebrating Space Mountain: The Final Ignition!” Tokyo Disney Resort announced that they will be hosting a celebration for Space Mountain, and this event will include A LOT! From new ride decorations to themed merchandise and food, Tokyo Disney Resort is going ALL OUT to celebrate this iconic ride. ©Disney During the celebration, guests will be able to experience Space Mountain in its current version for the last time at Tokyo Disney Resort. The park is making sure that guests who come for one last ride are going to have a great time! Check out even more changes happening at Tokyo Disney Resort here! Special Decorations and Photo Opportunities To start, the attraction entrance will be getting special decorations for the event. This overlay will feature the event logo and a banner with “The Final Ignition!” displayed. Stop by and grab a photo to celebrate the last few months of Space Mountain at Tokyo Disney Resort. ©Disney In addition to the decorations at the entrance, you can also snap a picture at a special photo op! This will include motifs from the current ride, and it is the perfect spot to commemorate your last ride on Space Mountain! ©Disney We love that they are providing a way to remember this current version of Space Mountain! While this one may be closing, there are still lots of Space Mountains out there! But how do they compare? Read more here! Exclusive Merchandise It wouldn’t be a Disney celebration without some merchandise. Have no fear, there are multiple items to choose from and one we are SUPER excited about! You can grab a pouch, drawstring bag, tumbler, tissue box cover or a clear folder. All these items have the Space Mountain Final Ignition Logo with lots of fun space theming! We never knew we needed a tissue box cover until now, how COOL is that design?! This exclusive merchandise will be available for purchase starting April 8th. ©Disney Here’s the one we’re most excited about: You can also purchase a patch badge that is crafted from the Space Mountain cast member costumes. We think this is such a neat idea and a great way to have a piece of this ride with you forever! ©Disney There will also be a commemorative sticker available in Tomorrowland. Complete details regarding the distribution of this sticker have not been announced, but it has been confirmed you can get this sticker without needing to experience the attraction. ©Disney You can never have too many Disney-themed stickers and we love that they are handing these out for the celebration! Space Mountain-Themed Food and Drinks Now this wouldn’t be a Disney Food Blog post without talking about our favorite things: food and drinks! Tokyo Disney Resort has two specialty items available for purchase in the park beginning April 1st. They are also offering a special menu item at the Disney Ambassador Hotel. Tomorrowland Terrace will be offering a Sparkling Jelly Drink. This drink is Coca-Cola & Lemon-Vanilla infused with passion fruit jelly and lemon. That sounds like an out-of-this-world combination! ©Disney You can also grab a limited-edition popcorn box during the celebration. These will be offered at popcorn wagons throughout the park and we think they look amazing! ©Disney The last of the themed food and drinks can be found at the Hyperion Lounge at the Disney Ambassador Lounge. The dish is called “Celebrating Space Mountain: The Final Ignition!” Premium Sweets Set and is filled with space-themed eats inspired by the planets. ©Disney We are already eyeing some of those, do you think they would be able to ship it? Special Disney Resort Line Day Pass Card Finally, Disney Resort Line will also be offering a limited-edition day pass card honoring Space Mountain! These passes can be purchased at ticket machines at Disney Resort Line stations. ©Disney That is everything! Tokyo Disney Resort sure knows how to throw a celebration!
