It’s ON, my friends…

Tangierine Café

The EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival has returned, and the event’s Outdoor Kitchen Food Booths have returned along with it! The thing is, the return of Tangierine Cafe: Flavors of the Medina is something of a given, in that this spot has consistently served as a Food Booth for each of EPCOT’s seasonal Festivals throughout the year. But, hey, if you’re a fan of Mediterranean flavors, that’s good news! In fact, it even appears that Tangierine Cafe has some surprises in store for us this year

Menu

There’s a mix of returning and NEW items at Tangierine Cafe! New on the menu this year is a Mediterranean Flatbread, which is up for grabs alongside the returning Orange Blossom-Saffron Cake and Grilled Kebabs.

The Pomegranate Mimosa is also back this year. This year’s Hard Cider options even include a couple of new options: Keel Farms Pear Honeysuckle Hard Cider and Woodchuck Imperial Sippin’ Citrus Hard Cider make their debut along with the returning 3 Daughters Brewing Pomegranate Hard Cider. The Cider Flight gives you the chance to try them all!

Full Spread

In general, out of all the festivals that we’ve been trying this festival booth, this was our favorite year! Almost everything was very good and better than past festivals. However, the pomegranate cider here had us REALLY confused.

Eats

We are MORE than ready to dig into something new at Tangierine Cafe. Introducing the Mediterranean Flatbread!

Mediterranean Flatbread

Coming in at $6.00, this flatbread is topped with chermoula, roasted vegetables, artichoke, olives, and feta cheese. We were honestly blown away by this flatbread. It’s not the best of the fest, but it came close. It has a luxurious garlic aioli drizzled on top of it, which isn’t listed on the menu. And honestly, the aioli was the bed part. It was like dunking Mediterranean bread into a tasty garlic dip.

The Orange Blossom-Saffron Cake was a hit last year, so it’s fun to see it on the menu once again.

Orange Blossom Saffron Cake

This pretty dessert is $5.00, and we loved it! There have been variations of this cake at other festivals, but we think we liked this one the best of them all. The top isn’t hard, but it is more of a shell which we liked for the addition texture. It’s not super sweet and rich, which was another bonus for our reporter. The bottom layer is spongy, which makes this cake overall light and airy.

You can also get the Grilled Kebabs with either Lamb Kefta or Chermoula Chicken at this booth. Each kebab is $6.25 and you get a side of carrot-chickpea salad and garlic aioli on top.

Moving on to beverages…

Drinks

Say “Cheers!” with the returning Pomegranate Mimosa!

Pomegranate Mimosa

Fruity, simple, and refreshing, this bit of bubbly is a nice change of pace from the traditional orange mimosa. You can grab it for $11.50!

That said, Tangierine Cafe is really the place to be for fans of hard cider! There are three that you can try this year: Keel Farms Pear Honeysuckle Hard Cider ($5.75 for 6 oz./ $9.75 for 12 oz.) and Woodchuck Imperial Sippin’ Citrus Hard Cider ($5.75 for 6 oz./ $9.75 for 12 oz.) are new to the Festival this year, while the 3 Daughters Brewing Pomegranate Hard Cider ($5.75 for 6 oz./ $9.75 for 12 oz.) makes a return.

Cider flight

And, as always, you can try all three with the Cider Flight for $10.25! Naturally, the flight was what we opted for so we could try them all. First up, the 3 Daughters Brewing Pomegranate Hard Cider. This was our favorite of the three ciders! It had the best flavor and you could actually taste the pomegranate. Don’t let the color fool you, this light-colored cider is actually pomegranate (!!), and we would recommend it over the other two any day.

Then, we tried the Keel Farms Pear Honeysuckle Hard Cider. This one and the honeysuckle citrus cider were kind of the same in that there wasn’t much flavor to them. We searched hard for the pear and citrus flavors but without luck. They simply tasted like standard ciders.

The Woodchuck Imperial Sippin’ Citrus Hard Cider was the pink cider NOT the pomegranate cider, which was very surprising to us!

OVERALL

We were pleasantly surprised by this booth! It’s a booth that comes back festival after festival with good food, but this time it was even better. It may not make the best of the fest but don’t write it off. We recommend stopping!
