Streaming is a top priority for Iger, so perhaps that’s why this showrunner was fired before his show even officially premiered. Beau DeMayo, creator and executive producer of the upcoming Marvel series on Disney+, X-Men ’97, has been fired just one week before the premiere, Variety has reported. ©Getty Images DeMayo had completed work on the first two seasons of the show prior to his exit, and he will not be attending the Hollywood premiere on March 13th. He also deleted his Instagram account, where he had been sharing artwork and answering fan questions about X-Men ’97. A continuation of the popular ’90s Fox Kids show, X-Men: The Animated Series, DeMayo wrote and produced the new show. It’s unclear why he was fired from the project so close to the premiere date, but he will not be involved with potential future seasons. ©Marvel In addition to X-Men ’97, DeMayo was also a writer on Marvel and Disney’s Moon Knight and the upcoming Blade film.
