Disney4me
Getting to Orlando is about to get easier for some. An Allegiant aircraft Due to its many tourist attractions, Orlando is one of the busiest travel cities in the world. Now budget carrier Allegiant Airlines is preparing to add another new route to the area, though maybe not to the airport you’re expecting. According to the Orlando Business Journal, Allegiant Travel Co. is bringing eight new nonstop routes to 13 U.S. cities beginning this November. These new routes include flights between Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Palm Beach, Florida, St. Petersburg, Florida to Savannah, Georgia, Flint, Michigan to Destin, Florida, Portsmouth, New Hampshire to Sarasota, Florida, and most importantly for us to here today: a route between Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport in Cincinnati, Ohio and Melbourne Orlando International Airport in Orlando, Florida. In promotion of the launch, the carrier is offering one-way fares beginning at $39. ©Allegiant Airlines While not located as close to Disney World as Orlando International Airport (MCO) or Sanford International Airport (SFB), the airport is still within a reasonable driving distance, and arguably worth the slightly longer drive in exchange for cheaper airfare. It’s about 75 minutes away by car. Melbourne Orlando International Airport Executive Director Greg Donovan said the airport is “thrilled” to add twice-weekly service to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Melbourne Orlando International Airport LinkedIn Drew Wells, Allegiant’s chief revenue officer, said of the new routes in a statement, “The addition of new routes is a testament to the success of our existing service in these communities. Our network planning team is responsive to consumer demand, constantly looking for opportunities to enhance the leisure travel experience. The new service kicks off just in time to plan warm winter getaways to sought-after coastal destinations.” Allegiant, which was founded in 1997, describes itself as making “leisure travel affordable and convenient. With low-low fares, nonstop, all-jet service and premier travel partners, Allegiant provides a complete travel experience with great value and without all the hassle.” Allegiant Low-price carrier Allegiant Airlines is offering 8 new routes in the United States, including one to Melbourne Orlando International Airport.
