Disney4me
You never know when new restaurants, rides, or rethemed classics will pop up at Disney World! Cinderella Castle But, that usually means dealing with a bit of renovation in order to make it happen. Keeping up with the latest construction permits Disney files can be a great way to find out just what is going on around the parks and hotels, and we recently spotted a couple that we think are pretty exciting! We’re always on the hunt for the latest construction permits filed by Disney to get an idea of what sort of changes might be coming to the parks, and we found a couple you might want to know about this time around! Magic Kingdom Test Track has officially closed as of June 17th for its reimagining! Disney has shared that the new version of Test Track will take inspiration from the old ride, World of Motion, which was originally there when the park opened in 1982. And, while Disney hasn’t shared many other details about the project, including a re-opening date, we did spot a new permit for this project! Test Track The scope of work is listed as “install set design,” which doesn’t really give us much specificity. What is interesting, though, is that the contractor listed on the permit is Spitz, Inc., who also worked on the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride at EPCOT. We’ve seen other permits filed for Test Track which leads us to believe that Disney may have this project completed relatively soon, based on the expiration dates of the permits. This one was filed for “site and facility improvements” with Balfour Beatty listed as the contractor. The area that matches the address on the permit is located near the lakeside cabins at this hotel, the Copper Creek Villas and Cabins. Copper Creek Villas Not only that, but the expiration date on this permit indicated this will be a long project. Instead of the standard, one-year expiration, the permit lists March 31, 2027 — a whopping two and a half years from now. We don’t have too many details — but it does make us wonder if Disney will announce an expansion for this hotel at the upcoming D23 event! ©Disney In the meantime, we’ll be on the hunt for the latest news from Disney World and more — so stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest news!
